I have no idea what I was expecting from this movie but found it quite haunting and so quietly portrayed. Glenn Close is subtle and her character such a self effacing person searching for happiness. Life in 19th century Ireland was so bleak for so many.
It was a good way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
