In search of warmth and sunshine

We left NYC mid-morning or that was the plan. The plane needed to be de-iced which delayed the departure. Perhaps the airline knew and built that into the arrival time cos acording to our calculations we arrived at the right time.

We are booked into the Park Central Hotel on Ocean Avenue and so after a bit of lunch we walked across the road to the beach.

It was lovely to see the wide open blue skies, rolling waves, white sand .... The beach was fairly empty given that it is only people from the north that are finding this weather so gloriously warm. But the life guards were there...
Love these boxes variations
We are staying in South Beach because we wanted to be near and around the Art Deco area.
We walked up Ocean Avenue and back down Collins Avenue.
Back to where we started at th Park Central Hotel
Complete with Bogart in the car outside as they have a bar called Casablanca- I think that's the reason for the car- it is part of the hotel logo.

Celia! Looks great!!! And even though we are in the Tampa Bay area of Florida, I sure do envy the warmth. It is only 55 here as I write. That is about 20 degrees cooler than it should be!! We are all complaining bitterly!

Hope you have a marvelous time and keep us up to date with pics. We love them!!
