My subscription to MTC (Manhattan Theatre Club) has begun.
The first play of the season for me was The Pitmen Painters.
It is s based on the true story of a group of British miners who discover a new way to express themselves and unexpectedly become art-world sensations! It is described as "an arresting and witty salute to the power of individual expression and the collective spirit".
It did explore these themes while telling the sotry of the group of men in Britain in the 1930's & 40's.
The play itself was brought to NYC from London.
There are lots of images on the MTC website.
It was a good production and I enjoyed the night out.
