.....a day of the unexpected. The day dawned in the same manner as usual and seemed to be panning out the same way, checking out emails and blogs, catching up on emails and blogs, plans to do the washing, prepare for the week's work etc etc.
I should have realized that capturing the light early in the day was an indicator that the day was not to proceed in a normal fashion. While uploading photos to blog about I glanced out the window and the light caught my attention. The scaffolding on the Sheraton was catching the sun-rising light. Luckily I had another disk for my camera and was able to catch some of it.
And so the day continued... Got the washing underway and even got it dry and nearly folded and then the lovely surprise of a visit from Martha. It is so cold and far too cold in both hers and our view but given that it is she who is selling on 53rd St it is her view that matters and to our advantage as she came to visit. She was bearing gifts- a box of frames so that I can frame more of my playbills and fill the wall by the window that looks out over Broadway. How thoughtful of her!
We were drawn away from our routines in such a fun way- we chatted and laughed for a while and then went out for a long lunch at the Japanese place across the way- it is great to be able to share our Sunday routine with other. Sitting at the table- at the table we have come to refer to as our usual table- Michael our recent long standing waiter will take our order and we are so predictable that we don't bother with the menu anymore but he says what he thinks we'll have given the number of people with us, some semblance of choice on our part. Actually the choice is on my part as no one else is given the opportunity to select and often times see the menu. And so it was today when we shared our lunch time routine with Martha.
The meal ended the way the visit began with us discussing and laughing over our personality traits as reflected in our star sign and Chinese year symbols. The iphone comes in handy not only to find locations but also to answer the questions we have during lunch.
We bade Martha farewell at the restaurant door and our day continued in a routine-ish sort of way but with a lovely shine to it.

Celia, it seems to me you should not count on your day going in any special way, because it never does!!! LOL I think you just need to count on waking and take it from there!! LOL Yet whatever claims your attention, you seem to always have fun wherever it takes you. I like that!!
Love the picture of the scaffolding! That is really beautiful. Isn't it great to be able to see those special moments like that. So many people miss so much!!
How lovely of Martha to remember our conversation re your playbills!! Tell her Wendy Loves the poster. Hope to get a frame for mine today.
